about me

You may be curious about the person who seems to have some diverse costuming interests....
Just to get it out of the way, and to explain why I don't take on a hundred and two costume commissions:

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.

As to why I do what I do.. I can give no clear explaination. I think my passion for theatre and costuming predates the event that clarified what I loved. And that event was discovering Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera at the age of 10.
The show had not yet been staged when the first music videos were produced and those absolutely stunned my pre-teen brain. Here was beautiful music that I could understand, and a feast for my eyes.
I knew I wanted to be the girl in those videos. Then I first heard a snippet from the album. My first reaction?
"Those aren't the right words"

I had heard part of the rooftop scene which used the same melody as the title song.
From there I was hooked and rather obsessed for several years.
I almost hesitate to say I have seen the show in five countries, two of those non-English speaking. In languages I really don't understand at all. Ok maybe a smattering of words in German but beyond that...

I do have broader musicals interests of course, but that is what kicked it all off.

I also trained as a scientist. Three years getting my Bachelor of Science... and I'm not a scientist;) Not a lab technician, not in research... but what I learnt was invaulable.
Never take things at face value, never believe anything explicity, keep open minded and remember there is more than one answer.

I have a cat. I could not imagine life without him now, he has made such an impact on my life.
My family is my family, Unless they wish to have their own pages on my site I cannot involve them.
